Nigeria Women Football League Resumes March 20th

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), has announced the postponement of its ongoing 2023/2024 Premiership season, with the Match day 10 fixtures originally slated for February 28th, rescheduled to take place on March 20th, 2024.

The decision to postpone comes amidst various critical issues, including match operations and officiating, which require immediate attention and resolution.

Chief Operating Officer of NWFL, Modupe Shabi, emphasised the importance of addressing these issues promptly to guarantee a smooth and successful league.

According to her, the NWFL Board, Chairperson and Management jointly made this decision in the interest of ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of the top-flight league.

She also expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders during this time.

The NWFL reassured fans, players and officials that concerted efforts are being made to resolve the challenges and deliver an outstanding league experience on the rescheduled date.
