The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has achieved a significant milestone in its counterterrorism operations through a precision air interdiction mission directed at Arra, a prominent terrorist enclave located in the Sambisa region.

This operation was executed under the authority of the Chief of the Air Staff.

In an official statement, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, reported that the Air Component of Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI initiated the airstrike following an extensive series of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions that monitored terrorist movements in the aftermath of the ambush on ground troops at KASHOMRI on 17 October.

Continued ISR efforts over Kashomri and the Sambisa area identified suspicious activities and active terrorist infrastructures at Arra, thereby prompting a strategic, intelligence-led strike.

Ejodame stated, “NAF air assets acquired and engaged designated objectives through coordinated, successive passes.”

He further indicated that the operation accomplished its objectives, resulting in the destruction of all identified targets and significantly weakening the terrorists’ operational capabilities while disrupting their command and logistics networks.

He emphasised that “this successful mission underscores the NAF’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation, supporting ground forces, and maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist factions across all operational theatres.”

The Nigerian Air Force remains steadfast in its mission to neutralise threats, defend the territorial integrity of Nigeria, and ensure lasting peace for all citizens.
