Nigerian Army Intensifies Military-Civil Relations for Peaceful Election

The 13 Brigade Nigerian Army Calabar in Cross River State, south-south Nigeria has intensified it’s military-civil relationship with the establishment of a safe desk hotline for citizens to relay information on acts capable of disrupting the election.
The Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Captain Dorcas Aluko in a statement indicated that “in an effort to effectively carry out it’s constitutional mandate of providing support to civil authorities and working in synergy with the Nigeria Police Force to ensure protection of lives and property during the forthcoming 2023 elections, the 13 Brigade Nigerian Army has approved a hotline.”
According to Aluko, the hotline was for the public to “report any act or acts of violence by unscrupulous persons capable of disrupting the peaceful conduct of the 2023 general election as well as the conduct of troops deployed to provide security during the election in Cross River State.”
She further explained that the Brigade opened “Operation Safe Conduct Complain Desk to enable the public call in about any security preach during the exercise for prompt response.”
