Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps Honours Retired Senior Officers

The Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps retiring personnel have been advised to fashion out an ingenious way to sustain Army operations in Nigeria.

 

The Ordnance Corps is one of the major logistics corps of the Nigerian Army which takes care of the production, storage, maintenance and coordinate issue of military stores.

The reviewing officer, Major General Adekunle Martins encouraged the retiring officers at the event of the pulling out parade in honour of 11 retired senior officers at the Headquarters, Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps, Abalti Barracks Ojuelegba in Lagos Nigeria.

 

He admonished them and the Nigerian Army at large on adherence to the laid down Customs and Traditions of the Nigerian Army.

 

Major General Martins, while giving a valedictory speech, on behalf of the retired senior officers expressed appreciation to God for his guidance and protection throughout their service year.

Untiring Efforts
He expressed his appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant Gene Faruk Yahaya for his support to the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps and expressed gratitude to the Corps Commander Ordnance, Major General AM Alabi for his untiring efforts in putting the ceremony together.

 

The retired senior officers who pulled out in the occasion were Major General AA Martins, Major General RO Yusuf, Major General AO Okoh, Major General HR Momoh, Major General MA Masanawa, Major General JI Unuigbe, Major General AM Dauda, Major General AD Chinoko, Brigadier General CS Uwah, Brigadier General CFJ Udaya, and Brigadier General PN Okeson.

In attendance at the colourful event were the Chief of Logistics (Army) Major General OA Akintade, Corps Commander Engineer Major General KO Kadiri, Corps Commader Supply and Transport Major General E Akerejola, Corps Commader Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Major General A Mohammed, Acting Corps Commander Medical Col IB Solebo, General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army Major General AS Chinade, General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen OC Ajunwa and host of distinguished invited guests.

 

Highpoints of the ceremony were the inspection of guards, march past, valedictory speech, group photograph and the pulling-out of the retired senior officers.
