Nigerian Leader celebrates Edo State Traditional Ruler on 70th Birthday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Traditional Ruler of Benin in Edo State, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Ewuare II as he celebrates his 70th birthday and seventh coronation anniversary.

The Traditional Ruler is the Oba of Benin and the custodian of the culture of the Edo people

President Tinubu acknowledged the Ewuare II’s service to Nigeria in various roles, most notably as an advocate for the country’s efforts to combat human trafficking and his support for the Federal Government in the repatriation of stolen artefacts.

He extended his felicitations to the Oba of Benin in a statement signed on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

The Nigerian Leader also rejoiced with the Government and people of Edo State, the Royal Family, the Benin Traditional Council, and most especially, the Benin people as the highly revered traditional ruler clocks 70.

“You have served Nigeria in different capacities, especially as an ambassador of our great country. You are an ardent supporter of the nation’s war against human trafficking. Your steadfast collaboration with the Federal Government in ensuring that stolen artefacts are returned to the country is remarkable. Most importantly, Your Majesty’s words of advice for successive administrations stand you out as a lover of peace.

“As the custodian of the cherished customs and traditions of the Benin Kingdom and its people, I enjoin you to continue to use your exalted position and divine endowments for the promotion of arts, culture, and the values that the Benin Kingdom and the Nigerian people hold as sacrosanct,” the President stated.

President Tinubu wishes the Oba of Benin many more years of good health and fulfilment on the throne.
