The Chairman of the Nigerian Legion Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin Rtd has promised to prioritize the welfare of Military veterans in the country.
General Jibrin made this promise during a meeting with members of the Nigerian Legion in Abuja.
He expressed his concern for the well-being of veterans and pledged to work tirelessly to ensure that their rights and entitlements are protected.
The Nigerian Legion is an association of military veterans who have served the country in various capacities.
General Jibrin in an interaction with the media in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, reiterated the importance of the sacrifices made by veterans in protecting the nation’s sovereignty and assured them that their welfare would be given top priority.
“The legion has resolved most court cases against it and now enjoys a good working relationship that will impact positively in the lives of veterans in the very near future” Gen Jibrin said.
He also stated that the Nigerian Legion would continue to play a vital role in the national development of the country through the promotion of peace, unity, and the welfare of its members.
General Jibril further urged Commandants of States Chapters of the legion on the need to urgently submit audited accounts and reports of their activities to the headquarters of the legion for onward planning in achieving the set objectives of the legion.
