Nigerian makeup artist Theresa Emegwara has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest makeup application by an individual.
This was contained in a statement issued by her media aide, Robert Ekat, on Tuesday in Lagos.
According to the statement, Emegwara, popularly known as TesGlam, set the new record on August 19 at 7:15 a.m., clocking 103 hours, 25 minutes, and 34 seconds, surpassing the previous record.

The artist, however, is aiming to push the milestone further to 144 hours and will continue her quest despite already breaking the record.

The statement added that the 28-year-old, who launched the attempt under the banner “Glam 4-144,” expressed gratitude to family and friends for their support.
“I am filled with immense gratitude and energy from the support of everyone cheering me on. This has really tested me; I have cried and nearly given up. We are not yet done the aim is 144 hours,” she said.
Ghana’s Akosua Mantey Roselyn, the previous record holder, had set the mark on April 3, 2024.
Emegwara’s “Glam 4-144” attempt was approved by Guinness World Records and commenced on August 14. The quest for 144 hours of non-stop makeup application is expected to last approximately six days.
Her feat adds to the growing list of recent record-breaking achievements by Nigerians, including Tunde Onakoya’s chess marathon and Chef Hilda Baci’s cook-a-thon.
