Nigerian Police Commends President Buhari for Recruitment Approval

The Inspector General of Police, IGP in Nigeria, Usman Alkali has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his consistent commitment of repositioning the Police towards stabilising internal security in the country.

The IGP stated this during the passing out parade of 422 police recruits in Minna, Niger State Capital.

IGP Akali mentioned that the passing out parade ceremony taking place simultaneously across the country, involved a total of 9,989 recruits out of the 10,000 that commenced training across the 15 police training institution in the Country.

11 recruits trainees could not meet up with the component of the standards det for the exercise during the training.
‘The passing out ceremony of the recruits represent another huge step in the drive by the government in changing the narratives of policing by addressing the age-long manpower gap that has been inhabiting optimal police service delivery in the country,”’ the Police Boss said.

The Police Boss further said the recruitment exercise projects the determination of the Nigerian government to address the social factors that accentuate  the commission of crimes within the society.

’The government policy of recruiting 10,000 police constable annually is not only unprecedented in the history of law enforcement in the country, but clearly confirms the commitment of President Buhari to restore the lost glory of the police.

IGP who further reassured the president that the huge investment in the force which remains a strong source of motivation would re-energise the police to attain the National Policing mandate in line with the president’s vision.

He said that the new recruits would be posted to their respective local government areas in line with the federal character tenets.

The police Boss urged Nigerians on the need to encourage their love ones to pursue a career in the police forcw, as it remains the most veritable path way to contribute to the path of National service.

While congratulating the new recruits, The inspector General of police however admonished them to resolve not to engage in any act that will be unedifying of their good name and that of the Nigerian Police Force.
