Nigerian President Has Fulfilled Northern Development Promises – RHA

By Hauwa Gidado, Abuja

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) has declared that President Bola Tinubu has fulfilled his development promises to Northern Nigeria through massive infrastructure and intervention projects spread across the region.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the Ambassadors, Tunde Rahman in a statement said the administration’s projects demonstrate “clear commitment to the development and transformation of the Northern region.”

The group revealed that out of the 260 Special Intervention Projects being executed nationwide by the Federal Ministry of Works, 48 are located in the North-West zone, comprising Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states.

“This is the highest among the six geopolitical zones in the country in terms of critical intervention infrastructure projects across the country. This is evidence of President Tinubu’s commitment to the development and transformation of the Northern region,” the statement read.

The RHA noted that the projects would improve transportation, agriculture, and trade while accelerating economic growth across the region.

Among the projects inspected was the ongoing reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, where the delegation observed extensive concrete pavement work and installation of solar-powered streetlights.

According to the group, the 82-kilometre Section One of the road project, being handled by Infiouest International Construction Company, is almost completed, while work has commenced on Section Two, with completion expected by November 2026.

In Kaduna, the delegation inspected the Kaduna Western Bypass project, which had reportedly remained stalled for over 22 years. The 21-kilometre dual carriageway is said to have reached about 50 per cent completion without funding challenges.

The group also described the Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi railway project linking Nigeria to the Niger Republic as one of the administration’s most iconic projects.

The delegation further inspected projects in Kano, including the near-completed Kano section of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, ongoing projects at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, a ₦27 billion irrigation project in Garko, and a 10-hectare Agricultural Incubation Centre at Bayero University Kano.

The team also visited the headquarters of the North West Development Commission in Kano, as well as a ₦47 billion ecological intervention project in the Wujuwuju-Jakara area.

In Jigawa State, the group said work on the railway project section was virtually completed, while construction on the Kebbi section of the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway was progressing steadily.

The statement said completion levels currently stand at 40 per cent for Section 2A and 16 per cent for Section 2B of the highway project.

“With these projects among others under construction and in various stages of completion in the Northwest and across the entire Northern Region in just three years of the President Tinubu administration, the development of the North seems assured,” the statement emphasised.

“Seeing is believing; those alleging the present government has not been fair to the North in terms of development projects can also go round and see for themselves.

“There is no doubt that the Tinubu administration has kept faith with the North. The remonstration to the contrary is either from those still writhing in disbelief in the name of 2027 politics or part of the machination of opposition politicians,” RHA noted.
