Nigerian Society of Engineers inaugurates new fellows

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has conferred on 52 of its members, the prestigious fellowship honor.

 

Speaking at the fellowship conferment lecture and ceremony, the Chairman-in-Council of the Society, Mr. Tasiu Sa’ad Gidar-Wudil said the Council approved the confirmation of the members who have been found worthy and demonstrated evidence in their Engineering disciplines in contributing to the development of the country.

 

“You have been considered worthy of this elevation having successfully gone through different levels of screening by the board of council, you all deserve the honor and congratulations for coming this far” he said.

 

Mr. Gidar-Wudil stressed that the significance is to encourage its members to strive hard to contribute to the development of the Nigerian society.

He noted that the new task comes with great responsibility to national building, stressing that “as Ambassadors of the prestigious society, you all are expected to be available whenever called upon”.

On the forth coming 2022 Anual Engineering week scheduled for 14th-18th November in Abuja, the nation’s capital, Mr. Gidar-Wudil urged members of the Society to carry out their various registration as this years’ conference promises to be unique and interesting.

He disclosed that other highlights of the conference will include the invitation of the 18 presidential candidates of Nigerian Political Parties for an interactive deliberation on their manifestos.

“We will be engaging the presidential candidates on their respective roadmaps on infrastructural development in Nigeria” he added.

The guest speaker at the occasion, Mr. Emmanuel Adanu, called on Nigerian Engineers and stakeholders in the engineering sectors to be more proactive and committed to addressing drainage and flood management issues.

Mr. Adanu who spoke on the theme ‘Nigeria Drainage Pattern and flood event’ said

the drainage pattern of the country would provide suitable configuration for flood management for multi-sectoral activities in Nigeria.
