Nigerian youths have been urged to register and participate in the forthcoming National Youth Conference 2025, also known as CONFAB 2025, to make positive impacts, network, and contribute meaningfully to national development.

The call was made by the Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Contacts and Mobilization, Chief Obinna Nwaka, who also serves as the Director General of the Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS). He noted that the Sub-Committee has launched an intensive nationwide awareness and mobilization campaign to ensure active youth participation in the conference.

This Confab is a platform for young Nigerians to connect, contribute, and present their needs, challenges, and aspirations,” Chief Nwaka stated.

He emphasised that youth involvement is crucial in shaping policies and development agendas that affect their future.

The Youth Confab 2025 is described as Nigeria’s largest youth-driven dialogue platform, bringing together young voices from all 360 federal constituencies, the six geopolitical zones, and the Diaspora. The event is convened by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development under the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The conference aims to promote youth participation in national decision-making and empower them to shape policies and propose innovative solutions to pressing national challenges.

To guide their contributions, several thematic areas such as education, governance, agriculture, technology, security, health, and innovation have been outlined.

Chief Nwaka said the awareness drive also seeks to reawaken civic consciousness among young people, ensuring that no demographic, particularly women, persons with disabilities (PWD), and marginalized groups is left behind in this national dialogue.

The Sub-Committee is particularly focused on achieving the Confab’s 50/50 gender inclusion target, with special emphasis on increased participation of women from the Northern region.

The Contacts and Mobilization Sub-Committee is the final group established by the Central Planning Committee, which is led by Mr. Olubunmi Olusanya, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.

It is tasked with ensuring comprehensive and inclusive participation across the country from grassroots constituencies to the national level.

Chief Nwaka also appealed to stakeholders across the public and private sectors, as well as civil society organizations, to support the mobilization efforts to ensure the success of what he described as a historic opportunity for youth engagement.

Registration, which commenced on June 16, 2025, will close on June 30, 2025. Interested participants are encouraged to visit www.nationalyouthconfab.gov.ng to complete their registration and be part of the national conversation that will shape Nigeria’s future.

The Youth Confab 2025 is expected to bring together thousands of young Nigerians from diverse backgrounds to engage in meaningful dialogue, shape policy recommendations, and contribute to the country’s development roadmap.
