Nigeria’s Cabinet honours Late World Court Judge Bola Ajibola

The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday honoured the late former Judge of the International Court of Justice, Prince Bola Ajibola, who died on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the age of 89.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, formally announced Ajibola’s death before the commencement of the Council’s meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and called for a minute silence in his honour.

Following the announcement, the Council observed a minute silence in honour of the late jurist who was at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands, from 1991 to 1994.

Before then, Judge Ajibola was Nigeria’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice under the military regime of Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (Rtd) from 1985 to 1991.

He was also the President of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, from 1984 to 1985.

The remains of the late Judge Ajibola was buried on Sunday in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
