
The National Identity management Commission (NIMC), has emphasised the need to sustain the existing partnership between the Commission and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to enhance data integrity, streamline operational procedures, and fortify Nigeria’s borders through robust identity infrastructure.
The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission NIMC, Engineer Abisoye Coker-Odusote stated this when she received on a courtesy visit, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service NIS, Kemi Nanna Nandap in Abuja.
Coker-Odusote remarked that the agencies expressed their shared commitment to working more closely in driving
policies and initiatives that support security, efficiency, and innovation in the nation’s identity and border management systems.
She noted that the synergy between the two agencies particularly in strengthening border security and identity verification system and supporting national development goals were great measures that needed to be sustained.

Speaking, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service NIS, Kemi Nanna Nandap remarked that the visit was part of the Service’s initiatives to strengthen collaboration and commitment with sister agencies in ensuring adequate service delivery and efficiency in border management system.
The Comptroller General noted that the Nigeria Immigration Service would continue to embark on new innovations that will improve the services of Immigration to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The visit has however deepened the long existing relationship of both agencies under the Federal Ministry of Interior in improving the country’s National Security’.
