The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nanna Nandap, has reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s immigration landscape.
She said the transformation is aimed at technology-driven innovations, strategic partnerships, and people-centered policies.
Kemi Nandap announced this during the stakeholders engagement and sensitization on Expatriate Quota Reform, New VISA and post Amnesty programme in Abuja, Nigeria.
“These initiatives reflect our shared commitment to excellence in border governance and migration management.
“Leadership is not just about managing systems—it is about inspiring change, empowering people, and ensuring that every reform enhances both our national security and the dignity of those we serve.” She said.
She emphasised that the service has engaged in several Reforms through technology and other initiatives that have contributed towards improving and repositioning the Service for effective service delivery.
The Comptroller General remarked that every Reform embarked by the Service would equally enhance both national security and improve accountability in the service.
She however attributed the successes recorded in the service to the support given to it by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and assured that the service would continue to improve on its commitment in repositioning the Service to the Renewed hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
In her speech, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani noted that that the Ministry would continue to promote transparency and accountability in the management of expatriate quota policies and urged companies to comply with the regulations and prioritize the development of local talent .
She emphasised the need for companies to prioritize local talent and develop the skills of Nigerian professionals and noted that the Ministry is committed in ensuring that Nigerians are given the opportunity in their areas of expertise
There were goodwill messages and contributions at the event by the stakeholders on how best to uplift the services of the Nigeria Immigration Service for more effective service delivery.
