The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has reaffirmed that building strong strategic partnerships is key to unlocking value, driving sustainability, and accelerating commercial growth within Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.
Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, made this known on Tuesday during the 2025 Inaugural Annual Downstream Petroleum Week, organised by the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream).
He was represented at the event by the Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mr Mumuni Dagazau.
Ojulari described Nigeria’s downstream sector as one undergoing transformation—defined by transition, opportunity, and reform—and stressed that collaboration is vital to achieving a sustainable energy future.
He noted that Africa’s energy demand is expected to grow significantly in the coming years, with Nigeria positioned to lead that growth.

This, he said, calls for coordinated efforts and shared responsibility to harness new opportunities and ensure inclusive, long-term development across the industry.
On domestic operations, Ojulari reiterated NNPC Ltd.’s commitment to maintaining consistent fuel supply, competitive pricing, and strict quality assurance across its nationwide retail network.
“The opportunity to create a sustainable economy for today and the future is hinged on supply partnerships, infrastructure co-investments, security collaborations, host community cooperation, and operational alliances. Everyone needs to get involved in activities that will ultimately secure a promising future for Nigeria,” he said.
He commended the National Assembly and the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) for convening the forum, emphasising that as both a commercial entity and a national energy company, NNPC Ltd. remains dedicated to fostering stakeholder engagement and promoting collaborative models that drive sector-wide progress.
The event, held at the National Assembly Complex, was themed “Celebrating Our Successes, Confronting Our Challenges, and Finding Solutions for the Petroleum Downstream Sector.” It brought together key industry players, lawmakers, and downstream operators from across the country.
