NNPC Sports Fiesta ends in Abuja

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited’s Sports Fiesta ended in Abuja on Friday with Team Integrity emerging overall best.

The 13th edition of the competition saw the employees showcase their skills in a wide array of sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, chess, squash, scrabble, 8-ball pool, golf, tennis, table tennis, badminton, swimming, and athletics.

At the end of the 6 day event, Team Integrity emerged winners with 21 gold, 15 silver and 18 bronze medals.

Team sustainability came second with 17 gold,21 silver and 21 bronze medals while Team Excellence finished third with 17 gold, 18 silver and 22 bronze medals

This year, the six NNPC Ltd. zones have undergone a restructuring, following their consolidation into three teams that represent the Company’s three core values of Integrity (Port Harcourt/Benin), Excellence (Lagos/Warri), and Sustainability (Abuja/Kaduna).

The highlight of the Finale was the novelty football match with Nigeria’s Super Eagles Ex-Internationals, led by Jay-Jay Okocha, taking on the NNPC Limited Management Team.

With the games over, the attention now shifts to the National Oil and Gas Industry Games (NOGIG) coming up in April, where NNPC ltd will be looking to retain the title it will four years ago.
