Kano State Governor in North-West Nigeria, Abba Kabir Yusuf has congratulated the citizens of Kano, especially the Muslim faithful on the Eid Al-Adha festival urging them to remain steadfast and supportive of each other.
The governor stated this in a Sallah message to the people of the state.
He said the government will continue to emphasize on the welfare of the citizens, stressing the desire of his administration to “support health care, education, environmental protection and agriculture among others.“
Governor Kabir Yusuf prayed for the pilgrims in the holy land and for their safe journey back home.
The Emir of Kano Alh Aminu Ado who received Governor Abba Kabir at Gidan Shetima urged Kano citizens to come out and be counted in the next census to maintain Kano’s position as the most populous state in the country Nigeria.
Kebbi State
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi state has stressed the need for Nigerians to be committed to sustainable peace and the unity of the country.
Idris stated this in his sallah message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Malam Yahaya Sarki, to mark the Eid Al-Adha festivity in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
“Peace is really very imperative if we truly want Nigeria to fully develop and to be at par with its contemporaries in the comity of nations.
“This is a task for all the citizens, irrespective of religious, political, ethnic or cultural differences,” he said.
According to him, Nigeria stands to fully exploit its potential when the citizens are united and patriotic.
Governor Idris said: “The state government remains committed to providing the social needs of the people, as well as initiating and implementing sound policies and programmes.
“We will initiate empowerment programmes for all segment of people particularly, the vulnerable, women and youths who have supported us to victory during the elections,” he assured.
