The All Progressives Congress has mapped out strategies that will guide its women leaders in Northern Nigeria to mobilise and secure at least 21 million votes for its presidential candidate, Mr. Bola Tinubu from the region.

The APC National Women Leader, Betta Edu stated this during the APC northern female stakeholder’s strategy session, with the theme, “Progressive Northern Women Playing a Pivotal Role Towards 2023 Election Victory” at the APC Presidential Campaign headquarters in Abuja.

She said the women leaders intend to go from wards to polling units on the 17th of February to canvass votes.

The APC National Women Leader promised people from the northern region a better life if they elect Mr. Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima on February 25th.

The Deputy National Women Leader and convener of the strategy session, Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim pointed out some reasons why women of the region should vote for the APC Candidates.

Amongst such reason she said was when Mr. Tinubu was Governor of Lagos State and Senator Shettima as Governor of Borno state, they both empowered women significantly.

She was optimistic that they would do even better for women if elected as president and vice president.

In a keynote address, the Assistant National Youth spokesperson for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Zainab Buba Marwa stressed the need for women supporters of the party from the North to take the campaign for the Tinubu-led presidency to the grassroots.

Decrying a plethora of barriers that impeded women’s participation in politics in the North over the years, she called on traditional and religious leaders to wade in to address the challenges.
