As the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season came to a conclusion, it’s standout performers who lit up pitches across the country will be recognised at the NPFL Awards, which holds on Tuesday, 2nd September.
A night of glitz and glamour will honour the players, coaches and teams who demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication and leadership throughout the campaign.
NPFL Chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye, explained that the awards was conceptualised to reward exceptional performances and promote excellence.
“We are working to expand award categories to capture other positions including the best supporting fan clubs,” Elegbeleye stated.
“We also have plans to make the award more elaborate by way of adding entertainment value to the event beyond presentation of rewards.”

Nasarawa United forward, Yusuf Anas, topped the scorers chart with 18 goals for Nasarawa United, while coach Daniel Ogunmodede led Remo Stars to its first ever NPFL title.
The award comes with a monetary reward of N2m each and some former league stars and leading football administrators are expected at the event which is scheduled to start at 10am.
The 2025 season was a showcase of raw talent and tactical brilliance, with title races going down to the wire and the battle for survival providing heart-stopping drama.
While the awards night will crown a select few, every player who stepped onto the field contributed to a season that will be remembered for its unpredictability and excitement.
