Remo Stars assistant coach, Sulaiman Folarin, has insisted the club will not be relegated in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Folarin, standing in as head coach, spoke on Sunday after a 1-1 draw against Abia Warriors at the Akure Township Stadium in Ondo State. The Remo Stars were ordered to move some home fixtures away from Ikenne, in addition to a financial sanction.
Both sides played out a goalless first half, with Remo Stars squandering several clear scoring opportunities before the interval.

Abia Warriors took the lead 11 minutes into the second half through Chukwuemeka Obioma, stunning the hosts. Remo Stars responded after sustained pressure, with Samson Olasupo converting to earn the home side a share of the points.
Folarin admitted the outcome fell short of expectations, as the team had targeted maximum points to revive their campaign.

“We have not been winning in the last five or six matches. We thought we would win this match, but we could not,” Folarin said. “However, we will take the positives until we get it right.”
“I know we will get it right and we will not be relegated. We will fight to keep our Premier League status. We will keep fighting until we turn things around,” he said.
Remo Stars are now in danger of being relegated. The Sky Blue Stars sit in 19th place and have stretched their winless run to six (D2 L4), after a 1-1 draw with Abia Warriors at their adopted Akure Stadium home.
