The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command has recorded a significant breakthrough in its fight against crime, with the arrest of two suspected criminals in separate operations.
The public relations officer of the command in Kano SC Ibrahim Abdullahi disclosed this while briefing journalist in Kano
He said in the first operation, NSCDC personnel apprehended a suspected drug dealer, Basiru Ahmed, 42, at Salanta, Gwale Local Government Area.
Ahmed was found in possession of a substantial quantity of substances believed to be Indian hemp (Cannabis sativa), totaling over 106 parcels.

Credible intelligence
The suspect was arrested following credible intelligence reports and was caught red-handed selling and distributing the illegal substance within the community.
He has been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further investigation and necessary legal action.
Valuable property
In a related development, another suspect, Muhammad Abbas, 22, was arrested at Gurungawa, Kumbotso Local Government Area, for allegedly burgling residential homes and carting away valuable property worth hundreds of thousands of Naira.

Abbas, who had been on the security watchlist for some time, was apprehended during a coordinated patrol aimed at curbing theft and other criminal activities in the area. He will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
The NSCDC urges residents to remain vigilant and continue providing timely information to assist in ridding the community of criminal elements.
