NSE: Trading takes negative turn, capitalization depreciates by N119bn

Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) took a negative turn on Tuesday and gains recorded on Monday were lost as the market index dropped by 0.57%, while market capitalization depreciated by N119billion to close at N20.544 trillion compared to N20.663 trillion recorded on Monday.

 

The All-Share index also dropped 0.57% or 226.26 points to close at 39.267.11 points as against 39.493.37 points on Monday.

 

Investors traded 336.12milliom shares valued at N3.26 billion in 4,394 deals.

 

The market sentiment was, however, positive as the market recorded 22 gainers relative to 13 losers.

 

Top on the gainers’ list on Tuesday was Livestock, which gained N0.17k to close at N1.93k, Next was Cornerstone, which gained N0.5k to close at N0.60k, while Courtville appreciated by N0.02k to close at N0.24k.

 

Conversely, Regalins led the losers’ chart as it depreciated by N0.03k to close at N0.30k, followed by Prestige with N0.04k loss to close at N0.41k then Daarcomm lost N0.02k to close at N0.23k.

 

UBN dominated trading activities as it sold 78,889 million shares worth N418.14m followed by Courtville with 43,907 million shares valued at N10,532 million.
