NTAC Lauds President Tinubu’s Technical Pact with Saint Lucia

The Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Mr. Yusuf Buba Yakub has extended his congratulations to President Bola Tinubu following the successful signing of a Technical Manpower Assistance agreement with Saint Lucia.

In a statement issued by Ojo Adetoun Olubunmi, Head of Information/Public Relations at NTAC, Mr. Yakub hailed the agreement as a significant milestone and a direct manifestation of President Tinubu’s vision to enhance Nigeria’s Technical Diplomacy across the Caribbean region through the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

This landmark agreement underscores President Tinubu’s steadfast commitment to South-South cooperation and solidifies Nigeria’s role as a leader in Technical Diplomacy. We eagerly anticipate our Volunteers making a meaningful impact in Saint Lucia, thereby strengthening the ties between our nations,” the DG remarked.

Mr. Yakub noted that this partnership opens avenues for Nigerian professionals—including teachers, medical experts, agriculturalists, and other specialists—to contribute their expertise in Saint Lucia for a period of two years, thereby fostering South-South cooperation and reconnecting with the African diaspora.

He praised President Tinubu for his leadership and dedication to advancing South-South collaboration, emphasizing that the agreement signifies Nigeria’s commitment to sharing its knowledge and resources with partner nations, ultimately promoting mutual growth and development.

Highlights of the Agreement

Deployment of Nigerian Experts: Nigerian professionals will serve in Saint Lucia for two years, utilizing their skills and expertise to aid in the host country’s development.

Alignment with President Tinubu’s Vision:** The agreement supports President Tinubu’s directives for strengthening regional and bilateral partnerships.

Support and Logistics:The Nigerian government will provide allowances and logistics for the deployed volunteers, while Saint Lucia will ensure accommodation and local support.

The agreement was officially signed on July 2, 2025, in Castries, the capital of Saint Lucia, by NTAC’s DG and Janelle Modeste-Stephen, Acting Permanent Secretary of Saint Lucia’s Ministry of External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation, and Diaspora Affairs.
