NYSC Boss Commends Corps Members In Ebonyi State

The Director- General of National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Brigadier General Yu’shua Ahmed has commended the State Coordinator, Mrs Mercy Bamai and the entire Staff of NYSC in Ebonyi State for cultivating the culture of discipline and cleanliness at its orientation camp.

The Director- General made this commendation when he visited the Camp at Old Macgregor College Afikpo North Local Government Area of the State.

Ahmed equally commended the neatness of the camp as well as the Quarter Guards.

He said; “There are many ways you can know a disciplined camp and one of those ways is the neatness of the Quarter Guards and I must assure you that the Quarter Guards here in Ebonyi State are very neat and am happy about it.”

He encouraged the Corps members to always accept any place they are posted without influencing it.

Consequently, the DG decried the indecent dressing among the Corps Members.

He said; “Because of the various calls I do receive from well meaning Nigerians, I hereby direct the State Coordinator, Mrs Mercy Bamai to Liaise with the State NYSC Governing Board to arrest and discipline any Corps member who is not properly dressed.

“Am sure you are seeing how your camp Commander and all the Security Agencies here are well dressed, that is the way a corps member is expected to dress at all times.”

On her part, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Mercy Bamai appreciated the coming of the DG and hi entourages to Ebonyi Camp.

Bamai also commended the good conducts of the Corps members since they came into the camp.

She however noted some of the challenges facing the Scheme as follows; “No functional NYSC State Governing Board, poor Electricity supply, stoppage of works on NYSC facilities by the state Government, among others.
