In this exclusive interview with FirstNigeriaTV’s Ojomo Olusegun Adebambo, he shares insights into this revolutionary achievement, the role of AI in the future of cinema and music, and its broader impact on Africa’s creative industries.

A New Era in Filmmaking

Driven by a passion for innovation and storytelling, Banwo saw AI as a game-changer in filmmaking. “When I realized AI could create movies without traditional production constraints actors, locations, or expensive equipment. I knew this was the future,” he explains.

His vision is to democratize filmmaking, allowing anyone with a story to bring it to life without needing Hollywood-scale budgets.

So far, Banwo has produced five AI-powered films, each exploring different genres and historical themes:

Kingmaker of Muguland

A historical-political drama.

Shattered Hopes:  A fictionalized account of Nigeria’s independence era.

Brothers at War:  A dramatized retelling of the Nigerian Civil War.

Children of Anger:  A political drama inspired by the Obidient movement.

Omegamax Conspiracy:  Africa’s first full-action AI film, where characters move, talk, and act like in traditional movies.

Currently, he is working on Talent Hunt, the first AI-generated musical drama, which follows six aspiring artists on their journey to stardom.

The Breakthrough of Omegamax Conspiracy

Banwo describes Omegamax Conspiracy as a turning point for AI filmmaking in Africa. Unlike his earlier productions, which relied on AI-generated graphics, this film is a fully AI-generated live-action movie.

“Every scene, motion, and dialogue is produced entirely using AI. It’s the first of its kind in Africa and proves that AI can disrupt mainstream filmmaking,” he states.

AI’s Role in Music and Cinema

Beyond filmmaking, AI is transforming the music industry, and Banwo is at the forefront of this revolution. Using AI-powered tools like AIVA, LANDR, and Boomy, he can compose, mix, and master songs with unprecedented speed and efficiency.

His upcoming project, Talent Hunt, will integrate AI-generated music, choreography, and cinematography, creating an entirely AI-driven musical experience.

“AI is an incredible tool for synchronized dance sequences, music production, and cinematography,” he explains. “Musicians who embrace AI will thrive; those who resist it will struggle.”
