Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen expressed relief and satisfaction with his loan move to Galatasaray from Napoli, emphasizing that he wanted control over his future.

Osimhen reflected on his tumultuous summer transfer saga, where Napoli attempted to sell him to Al-Ahli and Chelsea. He revealed plans to stay at Napoli until January, but Galatasaray’s convincing offer changed his mind.

“The call from the Galatasaray coach was decisive,” Osimhen told Turkish media. “I saw the team’s ambition and quality players. It was easy to join.”

Osimhen praised Istanbul’s vibrant city life and Galatasaray’s seriousness as a club. “This decision benefits me, my family, and my daughter,” he said.

The 25-year-old striker also drew inspiration from Didier Drogba’s successful stint at Galatasaray. “I don’t think I’d enjoy anywhere more.”

With two goals and four assists in four games, Osimhen has made a strong start. “I’m not a selfish player; my goal is to contribute to the team’s success.”
