The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says they have secured their portal and server for the electronic transmission of votes in the 2023 general elections.
The INEC Head of Information Communication Technology (ICT), Mr. Chukwuemeka Nnaji, disclosed this in an interactive media session organised by the management of the Commission at the Anambra state INEC headquarters.
He said the Commission would store their information on the cloud with adequate security, considering the activities of internet hackers and other technical hitches that affect online business.

Also speaking, the INEC Administrative Secretary in Anambra state, Mr. Jude Okwuonu, explained that with electronic transmission of results, the Bimodal Voting and Accreditation System (BVAS), and other innovations introduced by the Commission, it would be difficult to manipulate the election.
Okwuonu also disclosed that the electronic transfer of results and other innovations brought into the system by the Commission were preparing grounds for electronic voting and other considerations in future elections.
He further assured those who took part in the recently concluded continuous voters registration exercise that the Commission would ensure they collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) before the 2023 general elections.
Other management staff of the Commission equally used the occasion to enumerate measures they put in place legally and otherwise to ensure that the 2023 poll was transparent and hitch-free.
