Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, North Central Nigeria, says he has awarded contracts for the construction of over 390 kilometers of roads in various communities.

The initiative, the Governor said, is aimed at improving access to quality roads for residents, both in rural and urban areas.

The Governor, speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, after an inspection tour of ongoing projects in Makurdi, the state capital, highlighted ongoing projects across the state, including 25 completed township roads in Makurdi.

Governor Alia denied allegations of favoritism in the spread of development projects, noting that his administration is committed to delivering projects that benefit all residents.

He also outlined plans for future projects, emphasising the importance of providing water, healthcare, and quality education to every community in the state.

Some of the ongoing projects inspected include: Food Basket Brewery, Ishaya Bakut Road dual carriage way, the popular High Level underpass road project, and the newly awarded projects for Benfruit company concentrate and Benval Juice Factory, which are currently at various stages of completion.
