Oyo APC Congress: Sports Minister applauds National Chairman’s intervention

The Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has expressed his appreciation to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Governor Mai Mala Buni, for his commitment to ensuring that the Oyo State Chapter of the party remains united.

Dare disclosed this in a message after he held a meeting with the APC National Chairman, the Governor, in Abuja to discuss the October 30th Oyo APC Congress. The Minister, who in his message said he had an audience with Buni with the Congress Committee Chairman, Lawan Gambo, in attendance, reiterated the commitment of the National Secretariat of the party to the November 6 scheduled date for the Oyo APC Congress.

He further disclosed the plans of the National leadership to meet with stakeholders from Oyo State on Thursday while also resolving the controversies surrounding the delegates list for the Congress.

“I thank him for being firm about his directive that November 6th was the date for Oyo Congress. That at no time was October 30th approved by him for the APC Congress to hold.” With the Chairman of the Congress Committee present, he directed that November 6th be respected and stakeholders meet on Thursday to agree on a consensus list.

The Minister affirmed that the National Chairman had shown his commitment to party principles and building a strong and united party, consequently renewing the hope of APC members in the party as one of justice and fairness.
