Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed satisfaction at the level of the ongoing job at the 1,200 hectare Fashola Farm Estate, Fasola, in the Oyo West Local Government Area of the state.

The Fasola Farm Estate project was flagged off in June 2021 as a way of injecting life into the moribund farm settlement.

Makinde, who made an on-the-spot working visit to the farm, moved round the sites springing up at The Estate and promised to give more incentives to support the contractors handling the project to ensure that the project is delivered at the scheduled time.

Ongoing projects on the site include farm houses, farmers lodges, machinery service center, fan milk industry and road network, among others.

Also on the farm are the Young Oyo State farmers who were trained in Nassarawa State by the Makinde-led administration under the Youth Entrepreneurship Agricbusiness Programe (YEAP).

Governor Makinde expressed satisfaction at the project and said the Fashola Farm Estate is becoming a success in line with his vision of moving the state forward, noting that the effort had, no doubt, helped reduce the cost of farm produce and is attracting people from other states to buy food stuff in Oyo state.

The project, being constructed by Brains and Hammers, is the first of nine integrated agro-industrial parks that would be built across the state by the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA)

On completion, the Fasola Agro-Industrial hub would include dedicated crop and livestock production facilities, research and innovation centres, processing facilities, agricultural equipment leasing facilities, cold-chain, storage, packaging, distribution and export facilities and a sprawling residential area.
