As part of efforts at alleviating the poverty of women, the wife of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, has distributed empowerment items to women across the state.

Mrs Makinde urged the women, who are beneficiaries of the empowerment programme across the state, not to allow any situation or anyone force them to sell off the various empowerment items they had been given.

She charged the women to make good use of the items they got, asserting that the economic and social empowerment of the people of the state, especially women, would always remain core to the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration.

At the Durban Stadium, Oyo Town, venue of the distribution of the empowerment items for women from the Oke-Ogun and the Oyo geopolitical zones of the state, Mrs Makinde reiterated that the effort was in line with the plans of the Oyo State Government to alleviate the suffering of the mases, particularly women.
