Paralympics: Team Nigeria’s Last Batch Departs For Tokyo

The last batch of Team Nigeria athletes to the Tokyo Paralympic Games departed the shores of Nnamdi Azikwe international Airport, via an Ethiopian Airline.

The Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Matsunaga Kazuyoshi, was at the airport to receive the team and also bid them farewell. The Delegation was led by the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Nebolisa Abako.

Other notable dignitaries among them are, the Media Aide to the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Kọla Daniel Adeyanju, SA Projects Architect, Biodun Owoborode, and the General Manager of NTA, Fẹmi Johnson, and host of others.

The 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games will commence on Tuesday, August 24th, 2021.

It will be recalled that in the last edition of the Paralympics, Team Nigeria hauled a total of 12 medals. The Team is now hopeful to surpass that feat in Tokyo.
