The Director-General, Sokoto State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council, and a one-time Minister of Transport, Yusuf Suleiman, says he is optimistic that the party’s presidential candidate, former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, and other candidates have massive support to emerge victorious in the 2023 general elections.

Suleiman stated this at the party’s meeting with stakeholders in 23 Local Government Areas in Sokoto State, Northern Nigeria.
He described Atiku as the most vibrant, experienced and successful of the candidates seeking the Presidency Office.
“Our confidence is driven by the unprecedented support being enjoyed by the PDP in the state. Sokoto people have moved to the right with us and APC is on the left.
“Democracy is about number and followership support.
“Our prayer and hope is that we will win all seats landslide.
“The PDP believes in democracy and competence.
“This is our target and losing a single seat from top to bottom is not an option.
“We have the conviction that those that voted us before will still do same and even surpass it,” he said.
Suleiman said the PDP stakeholders’ meeting was aimed at and driven by agenda-setting for 2023 elections in the state.
“All party leaders’ hierarchy from ward to state levels have been mobilized for the meeting to mend fences on key, burning issues and critical areas of intervention with intention to proffer responsive solutions, as we launch forward on our campaigns activities,” he explained.
The state’s PDP guber running mate, Sagir Attahiru Bafarawa, said the party was in high spirits with the hope of making history that would be a reference record in the 2023 political dispensation.
“We are ready and will remain resilient to return massive votes for our presidential, gubernatorial and other candidates,” he stressed.
Bafarawa called on all party supporters to continue to rally more support and cooperation to ensure victory come 2023.
Also in his remarks, the Party Chairman in the state, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, thanked the local government stakeholders for answering their invitation, despite tied schedules.
He expressed confidence that with the enormous support being received by the party, victory was sure on their side.
The Chairman, who was represented by the party’s secretary, Abubakar Zaki Bashire, urged members to continue to mobilize more support for the party.
