The Niger State Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate in North-Central Nigeria, Alhaji Isah Liman Kantigi has planned to regain the state from the All Progressives Party by identifying three key areas of priorities if elected as the governor of the state in the forth-coming 2023 general elections.
The PDP candidate made this known to Voice of Nigeria’s correspondent, Abubakar Balarabe in an exclusive interview, in Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital.
During the interview, Mr. Kantigi narrated his journey into politics and how he intends to transform the state by highlighting the key areas of interest once elected.
He said: “Number one is the question of insecurity all over the nation. Niger State is not an exception.
“Number two is agriculture, i can say 75 percent of Niger State people are farmers. Therefore these are the most important things that affected us now, the third one is education.
“One of our cardinal thing is to look inward and secure our people, then we allow them to farm since majority of the people in Niger State are farmers, and agriculture brings a lot of opportunity from agriculture we can look at providing portable water and some other things that will bring the government closer to the people.”
He added that, investment in agriculture will boost the economy of the State.
Still talking about Security, he said: “I will engage the traditional rulers in the fight against insecurity in Niger State, every Emir knows a foreigner that has entered into his own vicinity. And Emirs knows the village Heads and other people he will hold to make sure that his domain is secured.”
