The Chairman of the Ebonyi state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Okoroafor Tochukwu Okorie says the party remains resilient and waxing stronger in the state.
He made the statement in an interview with Voice of Nigeria, in Abuja.
He said that the defection of the state governor Mr. Dave Umahi you the All Progressive Congress has not in any way affected the PDP in the state.
“The PDP has done impressively well. We are waxing strong indeed. Stronger by the day. The PDP was thought dead after the governor decamped but to their surprise and perhaps chagrin, the PDP not only has bounced back but has bounced back very very strongly and PDP has remained a household name in Ebonyi. It’s not an argument, it’s not debatable that the only party that truly exists in Ebonyi state,“ Mr. Okorie said.
He also explained that the party’s chairmanship crisis between one Mr. Silas Onu and himself came up in an Abuja court today and the case went the way of Mr. Onu but that he had appealed the case.
“Ordinarily, we know the judgment in our view is flooded with human errors as it were and we intend to approach a higher court of record to see whether those errors can be corrected. So, we are going on appeal,“ he added.
Mr. Okoroafor Tochukwu Okorie however insists that he was still the authentic chairman of the PDP in Ebonyi state.
