The People’s Democratic Party PDP in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria has moved to challenge the election results from the just concluded Governorship and House of Assembly election in the State.

The State PDP Chairman, Barrister Ifeanyi Nworie disclosed this in a press conference in Abakaliki the State capital.

Nworie said the election was marred by irregularities.

According to him, “PDP won majority of the votes cast by the electorates in Ebonyi State in favour of our credible candidate, Dr Ifeanyi-Chukwuma Odii for Governorship and other house of Assembly candidates who contested the election”.

He alleged that the Governorship/State Assembly election was massively rigged in favour of the candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC, Mr Francis Nwifuru.

The State PDP Chairman further urged the security agencies in the State to release all their supporters who were arrested before and during the election.

He promised Ebonyi people that the PDP’s victory which was stolen by APC will be reclaimed in the court of law.
