The committee will be responsible for screening all aspirants contesting various national offices ahead of the party’s convention scheduled to hold from Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In a statement issued by the National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC), and signed by its Chairman, Governor Ahmadu  Fintiri of Adamawa State, the party said that the screening exercise has been fixed for Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

The process is expected to ensure a transparent and credible selection of candidates in line with the party’s constitution, guidelines, and commitment to internal democracy.

According to the NCOC, the Screening Committee comprises seasoned politicians, senior legal practitioners, and respected party stalwarts who have demonstrated loyalty, competence, and integrity in public service and party affairs.

Members of the committee include Eyitayo Jegede, SAN (Chairman); Hon. Mohammed L.S. Diri, SAN (Deputy Chairman); Mr. Asue Ighodalo, Esq (Secretary); Barr. Jacob Otorkpa (Deputy Secretary); Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN; Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Chief (Mrs.) Aduke Maina; Iyom Josephine Anenih; Achike Udenwa; Haj. Maryam Inna Ciroma; Hon. Felix Hassan Hyat; Zainab Maina; and Chinedu Nwachukwu, who will serve as Member/Administrative Secretary.

The NCOC, chaired by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who also serves as the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, commended the appointees for their past contributions to the party and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver a credible screening process.

Governor Fintiri urged members of the committee to discharge their duties with the highest sense of responsibility, fairness, and discipline, noting that the screening process is a critical step toward ensuring the success of the Ibadan convention.

He reminded them that their conduct and professionalism would reflect the party’s readiness to reclaim its leading role in Nigeria’s democratic space.

“The NCOC expects that the exemplary conduct and strict adherence to the rules and regulations of our great party during this crucial assignment will justify the confidence reposed in the committee members,” the statement read in part.

The PDP’s 2025 National Convention is expected to be a decisive gathering, where new leaders will emerge to steer the affairs of the party as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.
