Members of the Peculiar Widows’ Forum from Makurdi, Benue State, honoured the Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Chief Felix Amaechi Obuah, in recognition of his longstanding support for widows and other vulnerable groups in Abuja.
The visit, which coincided with Chief Obuah’s 63rd birthday, was described by the widows as an expression of gratitude for years of humanitarian assistance that, according to them, had brought relief and renewed hope during difficult times.
Leading the delegation, Mrs Regina Peter said the group felt compelled to acknowledge what she described as consistent and selfless intervention in the lives of widows who had been largely overlooked.

She said Chief Obuah’s actions had restored dignity to many of their members, adding that his support had gone beyond material assistance to offer encouragement and a sense of belonging.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the Forum, Mrs Esther Dominic, described Chief Obuah as a compassionate figure who had shown genuine concern for the plight of the less privileged, regardless of ethnic or state affiliation.
According to her, the support received by the widows had helped them cope with economic hardship and insecurity, particularly at a time when many families were struggling to survive.
The widows offered prayers for Chief Obuah, describing him as a God-fearing leader whose private efforts had made a visible impact in their lives. They said the visit was intended to publicly acknowledge his kindness and to encourage others in positions of authority to support vulnerable citizens.
In his response, Chief Obuah expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as unexpected and deeply moving.
He said the visit had reinforced his belief in the importance of compassion and shared responsibility, noting that even modest acts of kindness could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Chief Obuah added that he remained committed to contributing to the welfare of disadvantaged groups while continuing his official responsibilities.
The visit ended on a reflective note, underscoring the role of individual initiative in addressing social challenges and strengthening communal bonds across state and regional lines.
