Peseiro debunks reported rift with Ndidi

Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro has debunked claims that there was a face-off between himself and Wilfred Ndidi.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) earlier stated that Ndidi left the Super Eagles camp following an injury – ruling him out of the double-header friendlies against Algeria on Friday and Tuesday respectively.

A Nigerian journalist claimed that the Leicester City midfielder was unhappy after the manager told him he would play in the center-back position.

Ndidi faulted the report – and his Nigerian manager said the same.

“The fitness coach of Leicester City told our fitness coach his conditions, so he did some light training with us but felt something in his hamstring,” Peseiro told NFF TV.

“We did MRI scan and decided not to stretch the injury.”

Ndidi has since returned to England.
