The Plateau State Government in north-central Nigeria, in a bid to supply safe, clean, and nearly limitless power,  has partnered with the Government of Japan to establish a hybrid fusion fuel plant in the state.

Prof. Goselle Nanjul, the Plateau Commissioner for Science, Technology, and Innovation, made this known in Jos on Monday during a monthly briefing at the Ministry of Information and Communication.

Nanjul noted that the plant, when established would supply safe, clean and nearly limitless power.

“The plant can convert energy released from fusion reactions into electricity to power our homes, businesses and other needs in the state,“ Nanjul said.

According to the commissioner, the plant would also increase the internally generated revenue of the state and create job opportunities for the teaming youths in the state.

Nanjul said fusion fuel was environmentally sensitive, friendly and appropriate to rule out the issue of climate change.
