Police deploys more Personnel to Niger State

The Niger state police command in North Central Nigeria, has deployed 6,505 police personnel and 3,358 other security agencies to ensure free, fair, credible Gubernatorial Elections in the State.

 

The Assistant Inspector General of police election Zone 7, Aisha Abubakar who stated this during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Minna, mentioned that additional 3,358 security from other agencies have been added to beef up the electioneering process across the state.

 

“I’ve received briefs, interact with officers, visited the INEC on level of preparedness and expressed satisfaction over their readiness in conducting the elections.” added AIG Aisha

 

She maintained that security agencies have been directed to exhibit a high sense of professionalism in their conduct while she urged the citizens to conduct themselves in a peaceful and mature manner.

 

AIG Aisha also warned the political stakeholders to conduct their engagements within the confines of the laws of the Electoral Acts and guidelines and respect the party constitution for the corporate existence of the country.

 

She further called on the media to exhibit strict adherence to the code of conduct, objective, balanced and unbias in their reportage for peaceful coexistence and assured of their maximum protection.

 

The AIG however appealed to the royal fathers and religious leaders to ensure peace in their domains, adding that the identified lapses during the presidential and National Assembly elections would be forestalled during Saturday’s polls.
