President Tinubu Celebrates Professor Uchegbu’s Election as Wolfson College President

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians in the Diaspora of his administration’s commitment to building a robust interface mechanism that harnesses ideas, promotes investment opportunities, and strengthens bonds, in line with his ‘4D Foreign Policy’.

 

On Sunday, the President gave the assurance in a statement signed by his Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, while felicitating a Nigerian-born Professor of Pharmaceutical Nanoscience, Ijeoma Uchegbu, on her election as President of Wolfson College.

 

President Tinubu commended Professor Uchegbu for being an excellent ambassador of Nigeria and for her relentless efforts to advance the frontiers of pharmaceutical science.

 

The President celebrates the outstanding accomplishment of Prof. Uchegbu and applauds the Professor of Pharmaceuticals describing her as an epitome of ingenuity, brilliance, and hard work that are synonymous with the Nigerian people both at home and abroad.

 

The Nigerian Leader wishes the Nigerian-born Professor more success as she takes on the new role at Wolfson College, one of the 31 colleges of the University of Cambridge.

 

Professor Uchegbu, renowned for her innovative work in nanoparticle drug delivery, is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Nanoscience at University College London (UCL).

 

Uchegbu, a Professor of Pharmaceutical Nanoscience, is known for her groundbreaking work in nanoparticle drug delivery.

 

She was announced as the 7th President of Wolfson College, one of the 31 colleges of the University of Cambridge. She will succeed the current President, Professor Jane Clarke, on October 1, 2024.

 

Uchegbu was raised in Southeast Nigeria and Hackney. She completed her pharmacy studies at the University of Benin in 1981 before attending the University of Lagos to obtain her master’s degree.
