President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has held a closed-door meeting with Nigeria’s Service Chiefs at the State House, Abuja.
The security chiefs arrived at the Villa’s forecourt at about 6:01 p.m. and were immediately ushered into the President’s office for the meeting on Monday.
The engagement marks President Tinubu’s first formal session with the Service Chiefs since the swearing-in of retired General Christopher Musa as Minister of Defence on December 4.
The meeting comes against the backdrop of growing calls for a strategic reassessment of national security operations and improved operational effectiveness across the country.
Although details of the agenda were not disclosed as of press time, the meeting is understood to “be linked to the administration’s renewed focus on tackling security challenges nationwide.”
Last month, President Tinubu declared a national security emergency, ordering the recruitment of additional personnel into security agencies and the withdrawal of police officers from VIP duties to reinforce frontline operations.
