President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, ahead of his visit to the Yelwata community, in the Guma Local Government Area of the state.

The President arrived at the Makurdi Airport located at the tactical air command, Nigerian Air Force Base, Makurdi, at about 12:58 pm.

President Tinubu’s visit follows renewed attacks in parts of Benue State, including the deadly incident in Yelewata village that left many dead, scores injured, and some others displaced.

President Tinubu, upon arrival, proceeded to Yelewata, a community in Guma Local Government Area, the epicenter of a recent brutal attack reportedly carried out by armed herders.

The President will also meet with families of victims, displaced persons, and community leaders directly impacted by the violence.

From Yelewata, President Tinubu will visit the hospital where several of the injured victims from the attack are receiving treatment.

This gathering is part of a wider initiative aimed at developing a sustainable resolution to the crisis affecting various areas of the state, particularly the rural farming communities.
