The Nigerian Government has released emergency contact numbers for Nigerian citizens residing in the Middle East following the ongoing crisis affecting parts of the region.

In a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, Nigerians in the affected countries were urged to immediately reach out to the nearest Nigerian mission in case of emergencies and ensure they are registered with the embassy or consulate in their country of residence.

According to the Spokesperson, the communication channels had earlier been publicised by various Nigerian missions across the region to ensure that citizens can easily access assistance when needed.

He advised Nigerians in Iran, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, and Iraq to stay in contact with Nigerian diplomatic missions and follow official guidance.

Ebienfa listed emergency lines for Nigerian missions, including the Embassy of Nigeria in Tehran, Tel Aviv, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Beirut, Riyadh, and Amman, as well as the Consulate-General in Dubai and Jeddah.

He emphasised that Nigerians experiencing distress should immediately contact the designated numbers for assistance and consular support.

The Spokesperson reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare and security of Nigerian citizens abroad, particularly during periods of heightened tension in the region.
