President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the renaming of the University of Maiduguri to Muhammadu Buhari University, in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

President Tinubu announced the decision during the Federal Executive Council’s session of tributes to the late Nigerian leader.
“The University of Maiduguri will henceforth be known as Muhammadu Buhari University,” President Tinubu declared.
