President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a letter to the Senate, seeking the confirmation of Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro of Plateau State as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The nomination of Dr Doro follows the election of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July. Prof. Yilwatda previously served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr Doro brings over two decades of diverse professional experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community development in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria.

He holds degrees in pharmacy and law, an MBA with a specialisation in IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s degree in advanced clinical practice. A certified independent prescriber and advanced clinical practitioner, Dr Doro has served within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), with frontline roles in urgent care centres, walk-in clinics, general practice, and hospital settings.

A statement by the presidential spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, stated that beyond his professional expertise, Doro has been actively involved in youth mentorship and social impact programmes within the diaspora and local communities.
