The Chairperson, Nasarawa State Commissioners Forum and Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Dr. Margaret Elayo, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope platform is designed to empower Nigerian youth as leaders of today, not just tomorrow.
Dr. Elayo said this while hosting a team from Nasarawa Expo 1.0 at the Ministry of Environment in Lafia, the state capital.
The meeting showcased an enthusiastic gathering of youth involved in the media and entertainment industries, united in their mission to promote the rich culture of Nasarawa State through music, fashion, and art.
Speaking, the convener of the Nasarawa Expo 1.0 movement, Francis Elayo, stressed that the platform was meticulously selected based on the impactful nature of their content, which informs, educates, and entertains the people of Nasarawa State.![]()
He also announced plans for a celebratory event to honor the state’s 30th anniversary on October 1, featuring performances to showcase their talent.
Also, the platform appointed Dr. Margaret Elayo as a committee advisory member.
Elated about this initiative, Dr. Elayo reiterated that young people must take control of their destinies instead of waiting for others to shape their futures.
She expressed that Renewed Hope, under President Tinubu, is a vital platform for youth engagement and vision realisation.
“We often hear that you are the leaders of tomorrow; looking at you today, I see the leaders we’ve been talking about. Your coming together exemplifies the Renewed Hope we speak of. If we don’t change the narrative, the same challenges will persist,” Dr. Elayo said.
She also pointed out that the voices and strength of Nigerian youth have been historically undermined when they fail to unite under a single platform to speak with one voice.
“We cannot let others determine our path. Youth must take charge, regardless of potential backlash. Your voices will show that you have what it takes to lead this country,” she encouraged.
Dr. Elayo, further assured the state artists of her unwavering commitment to integrating them into President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope, ensuring that their voices resonate throughout the state.
