The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee investigating mismanagement of the IPPIS system by Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs), says it has received petitions against 39 MDAs over allegations of job racketeering and other infractions.
The Chairman of the Committee Mr Yussuf Gagdi, disclosed this at the resumed sitting of the investigative hearing at the National Assembly.
He said some of the MDAs include the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Office of the Head of Service, Budget Office, IPPIS and the Federal Civil Service Commission amongst others.
According to him, the Committee will in line with its mandate engage over 600 MDAs to unearth the extent of the malfeasance in the federal civil service.
Mr Gagdi also summoned all the former Chairmen of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) to appear before the committee on Friday 4th of August, over allegations of job racketeering in the Commission.
Mr Gagdi also ruled that the Managing Director of Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON), Ahmed Kuru, and an IPPIS staff Haruna Kolo, formally with the FCC should also appear before the Committee on Friday when FCC.
This he said was because Kolo’s name has appeared in many petitions and allegations presented by the FCC Commissioner and others before the Committee.
The FCC Chairman Mrs Muyiba Dankaka informed the Committee that, she stopped illegal recruitments by the Commission when she assumed office, adding that she had also written to the IPPIS to stop the salaries of the people recruited without due process.
Mrs Dankaka stated that a staff of IPPIS who served in the Commission and suddenly moved to Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) Haruna Kolo, was the person fingered in most of the alleged racketeering.
