Suspended Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, who died at a hospital in London.
In a condolence message signed by Nelson Chukwudi, Chief Press Secretary to Mr Fubara, he described the late President Buhari as a leader of legacy, principle, and unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria.
It reads: “It is with profound sadness that we received the news of the passing of His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. On behalf of the Government and people of Rivers State, I extend our deepest sympathies to the Buhari family, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the entire nation”.
“President Buhari’s years in office were marked by a strong focus on anti-corruption, national security, and infrastructure renewal, efforts that will remain part of his enduring legacy.
He left behind a legacy of service, sacrifice, and patriotism that will be remembered by generations to come.
“As a leader, President Buhari served with sincerity and purpose, first as military Head of State between 1983 and 1985, and later as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023.
His contributions to national development and leadership will not be forgotten.
“May Almighty Allah grant the late President’s soul peaceful repose and grant strength and comfort to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
